Thursday Contest Results 

           The April 3, 2008 Thursday contest was held with 13 participants that entered 44 events.   There was $155.00 collected in entry fees and $30.00 paid out in prizes.  This resulted in $125.00 returned to the club.  The contest results were as follows:

It would have been better if we had more participants in the contest, however those of us that were there had a good time.  I would like again to thank Joe Adams and especially Joe Adamek for making it easy to direct a contest.

Entry Fees:    FAI Regional $15 for all FAI open fliers (payable on site and in addition to contest entry)

                     Single Entry Fee Covers Unlimited Events  (Events must be specified at time of entry)

$25 Advanced registration by mail (must be received by April 17, 2008)

$40 On-site.      

$1 Juniors (J) and Seniors (S)

 

Site:                 Univ. of Illinois ROTC Armory, 505 E. Armory, Champaign, IL 61820

 

AMA license required for all fliers.  All events (J, S, O) combined.  AMA rules apply, F1L & F1D scoring will be total of highest two flights. Stanton Trophy scoring, A6 & 5 ½” Plastic Prop rules on back of this flier.

                   CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING

   1st   = 5 points                      1 point is deducted from each place

   2nd  = 4 points                       for each competitor less than 5 for

   3rd   = 3 points                      all events.

   4th   = 2 points        

   5th   = 1 point

1.         Max. wing area 30 sq. in.

2.         All wing and stab. outlines1/16 in. sq.

3.         Wing posts 1/16 in. sq.

4.         Motor stick 6 in. length

5.         Wing and stab. ribs cut from 1/32 in. sheet 1/16 in. wide

6.         Prop. 6 in. max. dia. Blades to be flat 1/32 sheet (no forming)

7.         1.2 grams minimum weight without rubber

8.         Covering—tissue, condenser paper, no plastic

9.         No high – tech materials

10.      CD has last word

 

 

                 5 ½ in. PLASTIC PROP.

1.         Any heavier than air design (published or original) permitted

2.         5 ½ in. plastic prop. must be used

3.         Prop. may be scraped to reduce weight and any thrust bearing is permitted

4.         Rubber band power only, no restriction on length or cross section
